How I am safe at Hollow Brook Riding Academy

I am safe at Hollow Brook because the people there are very helpful. If I need help I know who to ask. Hollow Brook helps me with every problem I face with my horse and Hollow Brook always finds a solution. ALso if I have a question about my horse Hollow Brook always has an answer. If I need help with riding Hollow Brook always helps.

Blanka and Filip (10 and 7 years old)

A business colleague recommended Hollow Brook as a great place for me to safely learn horseback riding. Taking lessons at this family run facility turned out to be one of the best experiences of my entire life.

I now consider Eric and Lorraine Sundberg part of my extended family after having taken instruction with them for most of last summer (2009). I didn\'t just get a great price, they taught me how to read a horse\'s thoughts and predict his actions. Eric, especially, seems to care for and communicate with his horses in a way I didn\'t think was possible -- I believe anyone could learn to ride well under his watchful eye. The secret is out -- the Hudson Valley has its own Horse Whisperer.

My daughter has been riding horses since she was five years old. She is now 11. We tried many stables but putting a pencil under the chin of a child to have proper posture is unacceptable. Not to mention no fun for the kids!

I went crazy trying to find a stable that taught Western riding, which is much more relaxed than English riding. A breeze through the Pennysaver and I found Hollow Brook Riding Academy. I was so excited because it was the only Western stable around.

After a call to Eric I had to go check this place out. I pulled into the driveway and there was Eric in a cowboy hat. So we got out of the car and met Eric and Lorraine Sundberg, the owners of Hollow Brook. We spoke of my daughter\'s experiences with riding and they too were a bit distraught. They immediately put me, and more importantly my daughter, at ease with \"The Cowboy Way.\" We signed up for three weeks of camp.

My daughter learned more about horses in that camp than in all her years of riding. Her riding skills and confidence on a horse were phenomenal afterwards. We signed on for lessons after camp was over and here we are more than a year later still enjoying Hollow Brook! They have a great way of teaching -- they don\'t yell if you do something wrong, and they don\'t berate you. Eric is as gentle and kind with our kids as he is with the horses. Even more exciting -- this year\'s camp has cattle involved!

Recently my daughter told me that they also do therapeutic riding for children with special needs. Knowing what a great teacher Eric is, one day I stuck around for a session. I saw some of the most amazing things! Horse that were so patient with their riders, and kids grinning from ear to ear. It was a sight I will not soon forget. I think it is a wonderful experience for all involved! Eric and Lorraine Sundberg are two of the most caring people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Not only do they LOVE their horses but they also love sharing that joy with others.

I think everyone who loves horses and wants to learn to ride should check these guys out. I\'m sure you will have a great experience! If you have any questions regarding this letter please feel free to contact me.
